Brooks Saddles

I am having problems with saddle comfort and want to buy a Brooks B17 Ti saddle, I wondered if anyone had any advice or guidance. I currently have a fisik nisene saddle on a Cannondale Bad Boy 8 2008 XL frame. Put simply, my arse is killing me, and I need to be able to ride longer without the pain. I bought my wife a Brooks Saddle and she loves it. Need to know the pros and cons really.
Thanks in advance

Although padded shorts work they are not the most comfortable attire if you are out for the day and need to ride and walk ect.
Brooke’s is defiantly the way to go; I have a B17 and love it. They need a bit of work at first to get into the shape of your ar*e but once broken in will be bliss.
I do a 20 mile run trip commute and longer rides at the weekend and never think about pain.
It worth keeping and eye on the online sellers, as I got my saddle at less than half price from Wiggles.0 -
My road bike has a Swallow, my tourer a Team Pro and another a B17. All brilliant, but esp the Swallow.
Not the lightest and you have to keep them covered if you park to avoid it getting wet (or too much sun) but for me the most comfortable.0 -
B17s are quite wide - if you have a big arse (you don't have to reply to that!) or ride in a very upright position, they're gerat once broken in. If you are average size and have an average semi-upright position, you may be better of with the Team Professional. if you have your handlebars a lot lower than your saddle and ride fast, the Swift is the one to look ast. The latter is the most attractive one too.0

Thanks for the advice, of course I have padded shorts!, I have bought the B17 will see how it goes. I thought about the narrow version but to be honest it feels like I need a slightly wider saddle. Will be great for touring and i may change my ride style.0
