Hi,
I buy enegy gels and use them in races. So far I have only bought and used the Powerbar energy gels. I was wondering which company you thought makes the best enegy gels (Content wise).

    I use High5 EnergyGel+

The "+" is for caffeine I think. Raspberry flavour, and they actually taste pretty good. They aren't too thick, and go down pretty easy.

Have tried lucozade sport gels before, they had the consistency & taste of lube. Not good.

SIS because they are isotonic. Any of the others require water to be carried rather than, or as well as, energy drink.

+1. i started with the powerbar gels but found them thick and hard to get down, especially the caffiene ones. sis go down very easy. I've tried a few of the SIS caffiene ones, they seem to be the best so far.

i have tried many in the past including the honey stinger which i liked. i'm now making gels myself and saving a packet!

i mix maltodextrin powder with maple syrup or honey or argave syrup. 5lb of maltodextrin for a tenner!

IME SIS isotonic goes down the easiest, but High 5 caffeine gel is pretty good too, powerbar gel made me gag... I got given a load of High 5 products free at BUSA regatta, and have been training with them for about 2months now. I've used the gel to get me home when I'm about to bonk, and before races when I'm tired, and its done well in both instances. I've also had similar experiences with SIS gels. I'd recommend just trying a couple and deciding on taste and price, I'm not particularly convinced there is a massive amount of difference between them. If you want to try out High 5 you can order a sample pack pretty cheaply

I'm not sure whether SIS do the same but they do tend to hand out samples and events.

SiS but not the "+" version, really messed with my stomach and almost ruined a Triathlon for a friend of mine...
