Can people please help me? I have £400 in my pocket and want to buy a good spec hardtail bike. but what one? have been told that a carrera kraken 08 has a good spec!!! PLEASE HELP!!

You're better off taking your time and looking through the ads on here and, maybe STW. You'll get a lot better components/frame/forks for the money. Too many bikes in this price point are compromised by either a sh*te frame or even sh*ter parts, especially the brakes and forks.If it's not a Yeti, it's not worth riding!0

For cross country, and your average woodland trails? Yep, Kraken is a solid buy! But are many more - have a read of the What Bike thread in this section for more ideas. Best bet is to shorlist a3 or 4, then go and see them, and get sized up.0
