was a Specialized wasn't it?

Given the speed of impact I don't think it would have mattered who made the bike or what material it was made from as the outcome would have been the same.

If it had been made out of Sven Krauss it would have been fine.

The steel sign-post was perfectly ok.

Just seen it again on the ITV4 highlights repeat. Man, Mr Krauss is made of stern stuff.

This week I'll be mostly keeping my scott cr1 away from road furniture ;)

It was probably aluminium. And it looked bent afterwards.

Yep, IMO, a [insert old fashioned frame material here] might not have split into two, but would still be rendered unridable.

The important thing is that Mr Krauss is OK

I couldn't help but gasp at the way he hobbled across the road as if muttering nothing more than "Ouch, that stings"

He was an impessive distance in front of the impact point, a good 4 or 5 bike lengths. Probably some kind of acrobatic forward roll was involved or he would have broken his hip or back.

Krauss may have been unchanged but an ally bike wold just have bent. Hence my carbon comment.....u nless he was clipped in on old fashioned toe clipes etc
