used and liked pro-link gold for a few years, but have been using Dumont Tech light recently and if applied correctly is fantastic stuff.
always found finish line to be a bit messy0 -
I've just got some Pro Road 'Ceramically Reinforced' by Finish Line, best lube I've used yet, transmission was absolutely smooth after applying this- recommended.Where\'s me jumper?0

I tried Finish Line Pro Road and no matter how much wiping off the excess I did, it still tuned into a black mess all over the chain and rear mech after 40miles.
I now use Progold Prolink and it lubes well without all the mess.0 -
Another fan of Prolink Progold, clean like a dry lube, but lasts like a wet one - best I have ever used (and I have tried many)0

Ditto re Finish Line Pro turning chain black.
Thanks for recco on Prolink Progold. Just ordered some..Martin S. Newbury RC0 -

You're right, I only started using this a couple of days ago and now everything's a mess. I'll get some Prolink to see how it compares.....Where\'s me jumper?0 -
Depends what you want from your lube ?
Cheap - use any type of oil
Best lubrication and least wear - probably oil
Clean components - definitely not oil
I have used - Prolink Gold, Rock n Roll extreme and every common type of oil and am going back to Pro Gold, it seems to keep everything fairly clean and quiet running. He is not the messiah, he is a very naughty boy !!0 -
Ive been using Castrol spray on chainwax which i use on my motorbike, just enough to coat the chain and so far the chain on my Scott CR1 has done 3900 miles and is 0.25% worn ,cassette showing no discernable wear, ditto the chainrings, and my winter bike a Giant FCR2 has done 5100 miles on the original chain and thats 0.5% worn so i,m gonna keep using it unless i hear about anything better0

wow, 0.25% & 0.5% worn. what are you using to measure that?? I'll need to get one, it sounds very accurate...0

Probably one of these, it's what I use:

I use Purple Extreme lube. 2500 km on the current chain, still looking nice and shiny. The trick is to lubricate the day before, wiping the excess away before leaving it. Give the chain a quick wipe when you get home.0
