You mean kicked off team:
108km - BREAKING NEWS! Italians Leonardo Piepoli and Riccardo Ricco have been sacked from the Saunier Duval team for "doping practices", the team said on Friday. "(Team manager) Mauro Gianetti has lost faith in them and he decided to fire them from the team," David Garcia, a spokesman for Saunier Duval, told Reuters. Big news! We knew Ricco had tested positive, but we did not know what Piepoli's situation was. "They have been fired for doping practices," is the word from Saunier Duval.0 -
So, we can safely assume that he's the next name to be on the ASO +ve list then.0
-
His house has been searched by the law now.
Bye bye SD.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
(Team manager) Mauro Gianetti has lost faith in them
What they really mean is the manager's trying to save himself by sacrificing LP.0 -
So I've got this nearly-mint Saunier Duval 2007 jersey for sale...0

Parcel it up with a crisp £50.00 note and send it to me. (I need something to clean my chain with!)Pictures are better than words because some words are big and hard to understand.

I agree, I was looking forward to the daily drama of shamed riders with blankets over the heads being driven off by Gendarmes surrounded by a media scrum. No fun if they slink off beforehand.
Average harvest today, only one booted out, maybe a bumper crop tomorrow.0 -

Exactly. I'm sure he had no idea they were doping.
Did anyone notice David Millar said that Gianetti was thinking of doing an internal doping system like Slipstream's but decided not to (I think he said to save money?). I wonder if he looked into doing it but everyone he talked to had the program done completely outside his control and he didn't like the risks of that?
THIS is why he fired them.Thierry Leroy, a spokesman for title sponsor Saunier Duval, told French radio station RTL that the company would seriously consider its future investment in the cycling team. "It is highly probable that we will pull out of sponsoring cycling following this affair," said Leroy.
He added that Saunier Duval would be prepared to launch legal action against the team if proof was found of organised doping practices.
Gianetti must be scared that for once the team owners, managers, officials might actually be held accountable too!0 -
“We've always controlled our athletes as much as possible, expecting them to behave correctly,” Gianetti said in the statement.
“Contracts are always drawn up with strong ethical clauses and we always have guarantees from the riders. Ricco swore on his mother's honour that he would never have used illegal practices to improve his performance.”
“Despite all our efforts based on the internal and external tests, we didn't manage to avoid what has happened and now we feel victims of those who have a criminal desire to win but have put major investments by our sponsors and the job prospects of tens of honest workers.”0 -

Bids anyone for this on eBay ?
(actually no, I'm making a cheap joke, this one is supposed to have been worn by Millar not Piepoli or Ricco

- although I don't see any proof in the listing that it really was worn by Millar...)0
