Shimano GPS/Power-Meter
According to cyclingnews.com Shimano has a GPS+Power-Meter computer in the works! I hope for once, we get an affordable PM computer.

Much to our surprise, Shimano readily admitted that it had a power meter and GPS system currently in development. We're not sure how it would integrate GPS functionality into the presumably small-sized screen but no matter; the thought of a Shimano-engineered power meter has got our minds racing and we can't wait to see what becomes of this. Stay tuned.

Anyone excited about this?0

Looks interesting. Wonder how they'll measure power without infringing on current designs. I also wonder how much it'll cost, so long as it's cheaper and as good as SRM, I would think they might gain the market share (presuming they don't do something silly like putting it in the hub).
It would also be worrying for campag. You live and learn. At any rate, you live0 -

That's a good question. I think if it's affordable, with their name/reach in this market, they'll quickly take over the PM market too.0 -

No it won't. Lots of people buy campag just because it's not Shimano. Other riders (like me for instance) couldn't care less about all the latest doo-dads such as power meters.0 -
more competition can only be good for pricing, hopefully its ant+ or whatever compatible0

If a serious/rich racer is shopping for a new bike and can get Record or a shimano power meter set up for a similar price, what's he going to choose. Not the campag! You live and learn. At any rate, you live0 -
