Hollowtech query?

Might be yet another stoopid question but does a Hollowtech BB wear like a standard one?

This is the first bike I've had with Hollowtech and I'm just curious because I stripped it down last week to service it. There doesn't seem to be any moving parts on the BB itself

Told it was a stupid question!

It is supposedly more vulnerable to the elements being outboard than conventional BB's but I have no personal experience. (I have an HT2 Ultegra Triple, perfect but only done about 3000 on it, haven't touched it).

My experience is that external bearing BBs certainly don't last as long as cartridge types - but as the bearings are relatively cheap, changing them isn't too much of a chore.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

on HT2's the bearings are in the little cup things you screw into the frame.

for the tiagra / 105 ones they about £15 I think and very easy to replace.
