I'd appreciate advice on this, as I need a wider fit shoe

shimano road shoes come in most sizes with a wide fitting option0

Try the Mega version of most Sidi models.I'd rather walk than use Shimano0

I believe that Carnacs also have a wide toebox...Cajun0

Try Lake too - or alternatively get yourself a pair of custom-made Bonts:

Ive got the same problem, needed a wide fitting shoe for my size elevens, did a lot of research, learned that Specialilzed and American shoes in general tend to be wider than say Italian-bought the Spesh from Wiggle and lo, the shoes are perfect.Trust me, like wearking your favourite slippers, without being sloppy, if you know what I mean.Spesh Works Roubaix '10

+1 on specialized (and yes, american lasts are wider) I used to get numb toes & hot spots. Last year I'd had enough & went on a quest to find a wide shoe. 11 bike shops later I'd tried on pretty much all the stock brands. It came down to Spec or Shimano. I bought the Specialized BG Road Comp. Both were about the same width but the Specialized has a taller toe box which is just as important as width. Bottom line = Spec BG Road Comp had more toe room & width than anything else I tried.
It's a full season later (I ride year round & commute) and I've never thought about my feet while riding. Ah. . .best thing is to ride for hours and never notice your feet! At least try on the Spec BG Comp. . .click on "enlarge pic" and you'll see what I mean about the tall toe box: http://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCEqProd ... spid=261550 -

Yep second that! I have very wide feet and last year tried on several different makes but the spec are the ones. I have both the spec BG road comp and sport and use the sport all the time being all velcro straps as the comp plastic buckle has failed, in future i'll always buy velcro straps rather than buckles!0 -
On the Specialized site they say that they make shoes in both normal and wide fittings, never seen the wide ones for sale though. I use Sidi Mega.0

I have Specialized - both Tahos and these so called MTB ones but I use them on the road bike for touring too http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/Speci ... 360032439/
Shimano sandals are roomy too!

+1 for Spesh. I have very wide feet and find spesh v comfy. Just ordered some SPIUK MTB shoes for the commute though, hoping they'll be wide enough!
