Hi,

Both of the above wheelsets seem to be around the same price - Presumably they have different characteristics/ applications...any idea what they are??

Thanks.

    My Thoughts

the cosmic has a deeper rim - and is quite heavy.

the ksyriums are lighter and shallower rim - probably more of an all-rounder where the cosmics are perhaps better for flat TT courses.

of the two - i'd go for the ksyriums

    Yep.

The Cosmic Elite has been around, with variations, for years.
It's deep and aero (deep for an alu rim - nothing like as deep as carbon wheels, but not £500+ either), but heavy (because it's got a lot of alu in that rim) so tends to be used as a TT wheel or for crits as it's pretty strong and bombproof.

Ksyriums are much shallower rim and pretty poor as an aero wheel (someone linked to windtunnel tests on another thread) but are quite a bit lighter, lots of people tend to have them as a general wheel, sportives, etc.
The Ksyrium Equipe is a cheaper, heavier version and Ksyrium ES, SSC, etc are lighter, fancier materials, much more expensive.
