I would like to use GPS to get some routes available for others to view / download on my website.
Any ideas how I go about achieving this??

You can get a Nokia N82 phone free on an Orange tariff from £25/month.
It has an internal GPS, you can download the free Nokia Sports Tracker software
When you have done your ride you simply upload from phone to web (one key press, takes seconds) and your route appears on Sports Tracker, with various stats and charts, and you can view it on map, satellite, hybrid, and topographical map modes.
You can link your routes to your web site and your friends can view them if they sign up (free) to sports tracker. You can place a map image on your site if you want.
You can also export the file in various formats to other online training / mapping sites.
It also runs conventional sat nav software.
You could sign up to Sports Tracker (no phone required) and view some of the routes people have made public and see what it does.
For a free thing it is amazing!0 -

No need - mine is in a plastic bag in my pocket - keeps the signal perfectly.0

I heard that Nokia were giving away handlebar mounts for their phones at the Windsor Tri ? I'm thinking I'd want something substantial tho to protect my phone ?0

If you have a Garmin Edge or ForeRunner, you can upload logs to Cyclogz, and include the generated charts in your web site.

I have a Forerunner and use its software to upload rides to MotionBased.com and MapMyRide.com. The results are pretty good: And you can embed pictures onto websites, blogs, etc.
I also use SportTracks on my PC for an offline copy.0 -
Thanks for all the good advice.
The main objective has been to understand how I can get Highclere Castle sportive 2009 maps onto the website where they can be accessed in detail. You have given me a number of good solutions to work with.0 -
I use a Garmin and upload to MotionBased too. From there you can export a route and then upload to bikely.com or even google earth if you want to. If someone near you also has a Garmin you can downlaod their data and then use the function on the Gramin to hold virtual races. Trouble is, no one near me has one :oops:0
