Barloworld - Kick them off the Tour
“We're absolutely stunned by what is happening and by the behaviour of one of our riders. He seems to have secretly used banned substances, hiding everything from everybody else in the team,” Corti said in a statement issued by Team Barloworld.
“I've asked the French police to fully investigate the case so that we can fully understand the seriousness of what Moises Duenas has done.”
What a fool Corti is asking the police to fully investigate. I bet that didn't cross their minds! And do the team think that we will believe that they knew nothing of Duenas and his banned medicines.

i was under the impression that the french police automatically arrest the rider caught taking banned substances on the tour on fraud charges?
then again i might have just dreamed that lol.. the team boss is an idiot but they have to distance themselves from it otherwise the entire team would have to pull out i suppose0 -
he was named on the bloody list with strange lood values, he should never have been brought to the tour by barloworld.
saying that they are so shocked???? they're full of it....0 -

I think your correct- last year the Cofidis rider, Moreni(spelling?) was certainly arrested, even at the top of an Alpe.
As for the approach of letting the police investigate- I think its a great idea. Might get some guys more than just a ticking off.0 -
But what happens if Dwain Chambers gets his ban overturned....what message is that giving out to the young 'uns?'How can an opinion be bullsh1t?' High Fidelity0

Presumably his room-mate (Cardenas?) knew nothing of the banned substances that were found in his room when the police searched it.
Whatever the case, it is clear that doping is still rife despite everything that is being said. Look at the comments on cyclingnews about up to 30% of the riders in the current Tour being on EPO.0 -
Down from about 98% in 1998. We're getting there, it's just going to take a bit more time.Le Blaireau (1)0

Chambers has served his ban and should be allowed to compete. Thems the rules. Even Dick Pound said that really, there is no reason for him not to complete within the framework of the rules.
It's more important to have a nice consistant set of rules which are followed by all. If the rules say "2 year ban" then once that's done it should be end of story rather than "oooh, it's a disgrace" etc.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

same one as David Millar has given them0 -
the police will definitely investigate fully - it's not just 'against the rules of the sport' - it;s a criminal offence in France!0

At this rate they're not gonna have any rider left.
Another BW rider fell off today.0 -
I totally agree, kick them off!! :evil:0
-
Barloworld are doing a good job of kicking themselves out. They're down to four riders left.0

Chambers did more than most dopers that have been caught, the papers and details of supply and programs he was on were very detailed.
Basso's coming back next year, and still denies he did wrong!0 -

Chambers didn't say 'fair cop guv, here's all the details'
He had it dragged out of him and it took a couple of years. He only did it because he though t that if he did then UKA/BOA would then let him back into the Olympics (mistaken on that one Dwain...)
He's only implicated whassisname-from-Balco who was already out in the public gaze because he'd been busted in the USA
And he had to ask bloke-from-Balco to produce the drug regime details(although that could just be because Chambers is so thick he didn't actually know what he was on :!: )0 -
kick Barloworld out the TDF...they should have had the riders luggage checked...no privacy should be allowed here...0
