Just to let everyone know that the BIG PUSH is at Kingstanding car park on the 20th July at 14.00 hours. Basically this event is open to all, so bring wives, kids, grannies! We are trying to raise awareness that it is unfair that horses and walkers are allowed access to the Ashdown Forest and not bikers, so we are pushing bikes pushchairs and walking a small route over the forest. We have been to meetings with the conservators (who do seem to be listening, although reluctantly!) and Tony Williams at IMBA and Ian Warby at the CTC are involved in a big way and should be there on the 20th. But just a note as well, as we are all trying to get more access to places like this on bikes it would be great if we explained the advantages of them allowing biking rather than giving them the 'I will ride where I want' attitude that some bikers have been giving the rangers and conservators. At this delicate time whilst negotiations are taking place it would be great if we could all be the polite voice for cycling, rather than the abusive one. Cheers and see you on the 20th July at 14.00 hours.
