    Just reading stage 2 results:

"...a crash with 300 meters to go brought down general classification favourite, Oscar Sevilla (Rock Racing). A spectator attempting to take a picture of the finish stepped out onto the road and into the path of Sevilla. The impact snapped the forks of his De Rosa and left him with injuries to his hip and wrist. "

    Ouch!

It's scary when the baseline for such a profile is 2200m

that's why I like the UCI appraoch...to try and make superior stage race routes like those provided by China, Columbia part of the the race calendar of big teams from Europe.....and also help cycling developin these countries as a cycing is a racist white man's sport for the most part...needs to change

It's certainly a profile that could effect one's blood count.
Really is a bit of a silly place to ride.
Oxygen being pretty thin at what 13, 000feet?
Shows what awfully hot conditions must be, nearer sea level, if they can climb to thet height, without snow shoes.

The climb itself? Well, on this image, it appears to be an endless 40km drag of just 4%.
