Bad Purchase Decisions

Nearly 2 months ago, I bought a delicious white cycling top. There'd been a few nice days, so I thought - get a white shirt, keep you cool on hot days, save it for best, don't wear it if it'll get dirty. Cue the great British summer - The jersey's still got the tags on, and it's still in the wrapper.
What's the worst cycling purchase you ever made?

My Felt Virtue 2. Purchased in Feb 2008 and its been back to the shop 3 times and im currently waiting for a new frame to arrive from america. The pivots and bolts to the suspension system kept working themselves loose the last time 0.5 mile into the ride. Quality!!!0

Hey there,
I've rendered my bike useless for the sake of a £2 purchase.
I bought a SRAM Powerlink for my chain, and after removing the old pins and giving the chain a real good clean I decided to try out the Powerlink and what do you know, I can't get it to close.
I could be daft enough to try re-using the old pins, but there is always the chance that the whole thing will give out when I give it some gas out of the saddle. Then I'd have to throw my bike over a hedge and into a field, as us Scots do.
Cheers

I think I've saved myself from a bad purchase. I thought I would get a Rockhopper or Scott Aspect for the rides up our local disused railway but after borrowing a mates Hardrock Pro I am of the opinion that a Spesh Tricross would suit me better. I just hate the (perceived) slowness of an mtb. It was just so much hard work. Still juggling with this but I think I've made my mind up.To disagree with three-fourths of the British public is one of the first requisites of sanity - Oscar Wilde0

Bloody Topeak medium saddle bag that doesn't even remotely fit on a low-profile saddle that's set relatively forward, grrr....0

A Topeak tyre pressure gauge. I forget how much it was but it's been a complete waste of time and. It repeatedly gave stupid readings when two track pumps were within a few PSI of each other. I gave it to my dad to use for the car and he thinks it's a load of bollocks too.0

i.e. a 10 speed link will be too narrow for a 9 speed chain.Rich0 -
Hey mate,
My chain is 8 speed, and I bought a 8 speed silver Powerlink.
But it seems like it's quite a common problem, as I have since read this...

That's exactly the problem I'm having. Maybe I'll just try some brute force. These heavy winds aren't helping my anger management, so I'll just take it out on my chain!
