pedals and cleats

Being new to road bikes.I have so many questions to ask.Sorry for this.
I have purchased my first road bike and it comes with shimano ultegra spd sl pedals and i have bought some shoes.My concern is getting the correct fit for the cleats on the shoes.Help please

    Well it's trial and error, just put the cleats on fairly central, clip in and pedal backwards with one foot and see how it feels - if your knee hurts, or anything else, or if it doesn't feel so natural, then move them. Or you could go to a special bike shop that does cleat fittings...

    Yes never thought i am collecting my bike tomorrow from Hewitts they may fit the cleats for me.
