cutting down a carbon seatpost

If I cut down a carbon seatpost, do I need to do anything when finished to 'seal' it up or anything?
Any other tips? I've got a good sharp high TPI hacksaw blade to use. Was just going to use masking tape as a guide and cut awayholding it by hand.
