hi
i need to get a new cranset as my one has now worn out. I have got shimano hollotech and will be replacing it with a shimano deore crankset. Are these 1 or 2 pice cranks. Will i need to get a new bottom bracket and what tools do i need. I have been reading a few help pages on how to do this but every time they take off a bolt and on mine i can see right throught the middle of the bb because there is a hole going right through
Any help would be great.
thaks

Yes so what crankset do you actually have?
pictures please, or make and model and year of the bike."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

My bike is the specialized rockhoper comp 08. The crankset is Shimano FC-M521, Hollowtech, replacable rings with alloy outer, Octalink spline.
bb is Shimano BB-ES25, Octalink spline, cartridge bearing, 68 x 118mm for 50mm chainline
hope this helps

in that case any Octalink compatible crank set will fit. S you have a bb and 2 crank arms."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
