Stupid Question? - Newbie requires help.

Hi all,
I'm new to this road biking game but since buying a Trek 1200 a week ago I'm absolutely loving it.
Problem is - I have just come back from a ride and have noticed what appears to be a slight crack across the rim (on both front and rear and appears to be in the same place (right on the 'T' of Bonetrager tyres)). It is like a hair line crack.
The rims are still standard, and although they don't say on them, I believe their are Alex (?) rims. I have done about 200 miles and weigh 13.5 stone.
Right the stupid bit - is this likely to be where the rim join is? I have never had any cracks on my MTB rims??
Can someone please put me mind at ease???
Cheers.

I bet you will find it is exactly opposite the valve, this is the joint in the rim, more visible on some wheels than others. He is not the messiah, he is a very naughty boy !!0
