I have some video I need to edit and put on youtube but have hit a snag. The camera I use is an L10 and only records video in .mov quicktime mode. I can play it back in quick time but cant edit it. I have tried windows movie maker but it seems it accepts every movie format other than .mov. :?
One of the guys at work says I should buy Adobe elements video software but at 100 quid seems like a bit of a waste of money. Is there anyway I can get movie maker to accept a .mov file? Or is there a free convertor out there?
What do you guys do? Cheers!

Conver MOV to AVI and then use Movie Maker.

Ahh cheers for that! My mate at work gave me a couple of links but they didnt work on me system (winXPpro). I'll look into that! 8)
EDIT: tried the software out and it just wouldnt work on my system. :? Oh well. Decided to update QT and try another (Streamclip iirc) and that seemed to work. Just did a naff video to try it out (with some of my own dodgy music to boot - think 80s horror soundtracks)
Edit edit: here it is - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2m1w5O1Cuw0 -
Try SuperConverter, it will convert any video type to any other video type and it's free. Then you can edit in windows movie maker or any other editing software. Personal choice of mine is virtualdubmod, another freebie, from sourceforge.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0
