I might be wrong, but if you have digital tv, you can push the red button on itv 4 and get uninterrupted coverage of the stages, i am not sure if taht is at the weekend but i think it is. Hope that helps, but you are right about eurosport uk, bowing down to commercial pressure again. Cycling doesn't pay the bills though apparently. :(

Perhaps it costs more for ITV4 to buy the feed at the weekend, just to show on red button, to hardly anyone and without adverts ?

If you have broadband internet access then

www.myp2p.eu has all sporting events streaming. I am watching just now unfortunatley not in english however but reasonably good quality.

A better option is go go to cyclingfans.com and take your pick of which live streaming you want to watch. They have streams with english audio... eurosport video, etc. That's how I'm watching the tour this year!

might explain why they are only showing about the coverage in a little box about 1/6 of the screen size instead of fullscreen!
  • i notice we have some sort of car racing this weekend before very important stages, will we be getting this overrunning with 20mins of people hugging each other etc as we did during the giro, resulting in missing all the major climbs of the day?
I find it very hard to believe that these events bring in more in sponsorship and viewing figures than the Tour de France

It's funny because over on some motorsport forums people are getting in a froth about the Tour interupting the BTCC on ITV4. Personally I don't care as I love both sports, so just makes it an even better afternoon for me. 8)

If you're on about the WTCC on Eurosport though, ES actually part own the series, so that is why it takes priority over the Tour. And dare I say it, but in the UK at least I'd imagine viewing figures & sponsorships is probably about the same for WTCC & TdF on Eurosport.

Is BTCC still presented by the execrableVikki Butler-Gobsh1te ?

Must admit, I haven't watched it for years. Used to be good in the days of Sierra RS500's, but not Astras vs Seats like last time I saw it - as well as Vikki...

Nope she's gone, now Ted 'I'd like to bomb Silverstone' Kravitz, off ITV's F1 coverage does the presenting. The Sierra's were awesome, but this season is shaping up to be a good one - Vauxhall v Seat v BMW v Honda.
