A sad day but it shows again that the sport is doing its best to get rid of these guys. Outing them in the middle of the tour is bad for ASo yet at the same time good because it shows they are doing whats right.
I guess though that Liquigas has to suffer now which is a shame for Kreuziger who's looking really strong, and he;s in my fantasy team too!
In a weird way i think its a good thing.0 -
In my, never too humble, opinion:-
Positive A sample - out of the race.
Positive A + B samples - ban sine die + name and achievements expunged from all records.
No appeals, no excuses.0 -
It says it all when I'm currently watching (France 2) Curly Pozzato chatting merrily away to all the lads in the peloton, as if nothing has happened."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0

I don't see what you expect Pozzato to do.
it's a hard life if you don't weaken.0 -

According to l'equipe they're continuing in the Tour. €100K lighter in the pocket no doubt.0 -
signing Basso now looks even more of aPR disaster for Liquigas now.I dont think we'll be seeing yucky green in the Tour peleton next year(though we'll no doubt see loads of whining by riders who sign for liquigas between now and then about how unfair it is theyre not allowed to compete)0

[quote="Dave_1But Iain, you and all the shady lawyers working for doped athletes claim the EPO test doesn't work...

The Danish ADA were the ones who tested the EPO test and found it lacking. Did you actually read the report and how terribly it failed their experiments?
Beltran is very likely guilty.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
Wasn't the main thrust of that report that (a) there's only a very limited time window to be able to successfully detect it, and (b) some labs (for some reason) seem better at carrying out the test than others? Neither of which is a particularly stunning revelation as we already knew that.
I can't be bothered digging up the old thread on this topic though...
Anyway, I thought Dave_1 was OK with dopers, as long as they didn't spill the beans...Le Blaireau (1)0 -

It didn't work in the fact that it didn't always give a positive for those who had been taking EPO. There was no indication that it could give false positives - so no lawyer get out there.Twitter: @RichN950 -
