The Court of Arbitration in Sport has today asked the Spanish judiciary to send blood samples from the Puerto case, so they can be checked against samples from suspected riders.

The Spanish authorities had previously said they wouldn't do this unless specifically asked by the CAS. Now this has been done.

Valverde's not sleeping well because of his abrasions and bruises but I think he might start having nightmares now...

My thoughts exactly. It always happens like this. I don't believe the timing of this was random. You'd almost think these agencies were purposely trying to kill the sport.

Just when I was really beginning to enjoy this year's tour... (sigh)

It'll be months before the wheels of Spanish bureaucracy turn fast enough for anything to happen. Certainly not before a certain Parisian podium ceremony has taken place.
