I thought the Cobra beer was a bargain, till I realised it had no Alcohol in it!
WTF no Alcohol, perversion I tell you!
Seriously, Last time out, I bought a track pump for a fiver, I keep it at my office, just in case I have a flat, or need to pump tyres up. Not the greatest piece of kit I have ever bought, it's not pretty, but it works fine.
Clothing is good, just make sure you try it on first, as sizing can be a little suspect.
Other Aldi stuff I have bought, includes, the winter and summer socks which are good value.
Gillette, very good
The sunglasses with 3 different lenses, are quite frankly brilliant.
There are those who would say that the Aldi/Lidl kit is cheap because it is poor quality, there are those "who know the price of everything, and the value of nothing".0 -

I finally got round to fixing up my bike hoist that I brought last time Lidl did cheap cycling gear. Have to say it's worked a treat! Despite not making any effort to find joist to drill into the ceiling plates seem very secure (they are rated at 20Kg so my Giant road bike is about half that according to the spec from them!) and it's a rather nice way of storing the bike without taking up valuable floor space! The only problem is I can now see the underside of my down tube and get reminded that I should clean it more often!
Also not sure if Aldi are doing them but I also got a pair of cycling shoes, which have now been fitted with cleats to work with my new clipless pedals and they are working nicely to!0 -
Do you have a pic of the bike hoist Im not sure about not checking the ceiling tho i would hate to come down 1 morning & the bike is on the floor.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v407/ ... CF5579.jpg

the bike hoist is pictured on the Aldi website
Agreed, I wouldn't trust it sitting up there, maybe just being screwed into a plasterboarded ceiling.......
I'd be inclined to see where the light is fitted - probably secured to a joist, and then tap around - if you drill upwards, you'll soon figure out if your going into a joist, or just fresh air, plus when you screw it in, you'll feel if it bites or not.
I don't really want to keep our roadies in the garage, so I'm thinking of getting a couple of hooks to put in the dining room on the wall, so i can stand them up resting the weight on the back wheel, and just with the hook to hold the front wheel against the wall.

I have taken some pics of the bike in the hoist, I just haven't got round to uploading them yet :-) The 2 plates that mount on the ceiling are secured with 4 screws, that went into 8mm raw plugs. After fixing it up I did give them a good tug and they seemed fairly secure, I am having a look every few days for any sign of movement tho!
Once I get the pics uploaded I'll post a link for you.0
