Can anyone help the rear triangle of my I-drive xcr 5 is loose (the main pivot bearing) I can't seem remove the play by tightening it.
Where can I get replacement bearings - I have searched everywhere with little success (GT website has a nice video showing you how to remove them!!) but I can't find what bearing to purchase or if I need the main pin as well.
Thanks

The type of bearing is wrote on the bearing! You need to order that code. They are headset bearings.0

Cane Creek S-type bearings are used in those pivots. I don't have the code for them, but the S3 type are £12.99 a set.
The S3 is a regular cartridge bearing, or you could fit S6 bearings if you want to upgrade to stainless. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.0 -
Thanks, sorted a set of headset bearings from my LBS, fitting perfectly (it took me quite a while to fit!!).
Still some play in the rear triangle - perhaps it was always like this???

arrggggghhhhhh!!!!!!
Have just replaced the shock mounts, still play in the rear!!!!!
What next, should I replace the Main pivot shaft as this is were I can still see movement?
I've never owned any other full sus bikes so don't know if the amount of play is normal.______________________________________________

Make sure youve tightened the shimano fittings as much as poss. Sometimes if you do it from just 1 side the other side will just spin.
If not try new DU bushings.
Its definitely the rear traingle and not the wheel bearings moving?yep, my letter 0 key is bust0 -
Yes the rear triangle - It is quite visable, you can see the movement at the main pivot.
There is some play in the wheels (bike is about 18 months old and has covered well over 1000 off road muddy and bumpy miles )
DU Bushing? Is this the shock itself - in which case this seems solid.______________________________________________
