I use Fizik bar tape and the gel underneath, I use white tape, and fizik tape stays clean for ages.

I've tried quite a few and find Fizik the most comfortable and nicest finish for shedding water etc. not tried any gel stuff though.

i'l buck the trend - I prefer the specialized stuff an think that the fizik stuff looks and feels cheap (sorry!)

the fizik has a plasticky look and feel to it that might be easier to keep clean - but doesn't look so great imo.

the bar phat stuff is nice - I have two bikes with it on - the 2.5mm is better than the 4.5 - which is just way too thick imo.

the tape that is suplied with it is fairly regular cork tape.

Another thing worth loking at is the Cinelli 'Gel' bar tape - this is cork tape with gel inside it - i have this on my 'best' bike as it is a good combination of padding and bar thickness.

White Fizik tape looks better than grey gel/cork tape surely?

i really don't like it - I have it on a set of bullhorns I bought for the langster - the dark grey stuff - i just don't like the look / feel of it at all.

I don't mind - my white cork stuff goes dirty and thats OK - it gives the bike a 'lived-in' feel - even when the rest of the bike is immaculate (and it always is..)
