My girlfriend cycled over a dead rat yesterday. Well she claimed it was already dead. And yes it did go "squish" apparently :)

I'm a regular killer. Being a keen gardener, I make a point of mowing down snails on my daily commute.
    Lovely satisfying crunch!

I'm amazed at the amount of road kill this year I see. A bumper year for bunny deaths!

I've run over a Squirell or two before now. They have this knack of darting across the front wheel then suddenly stopping and turning back again. The I-Pod / mobile users are the worst

Would it be possible, hypothetically, to catch a London pigeon tree rat as you pedal along and throw it into the front wheel in an explosion of guts and feathers?

Most disgusting road kill i have ever seen is a rabbit that had at some point been skinned completely, everything else intact.

Weirdest ever was while walking through the woods road with a puncture and being acutely aware I was about to stumble a dead deer in the overgrowth at the side, yet having never known it was there until I did brush against it.

A car overtook me on the way into work, hit a squirrel which promptly rolled out under my front wheel. I felt his little ribcage crunch and pop. Thankfully I think the car did the lil guy a service as was well and truly dead by the time I hit him.

I was driving along a country road once, I slowed right down, didn't know why, then an entire herd of dear came crashing through the dense hedge in front of me to my right.

There was no way I could've seen them, and I'm pretty sure I didn't see movement in the hedge first.

You have a natural hunters instict. And so good hearing

I reckon something minor can trigger the body into reacting, a subtle sound, a little pariferal (sp?) vision... and all of a sudden you react. Did the same thing going across a crossing on the green man, walked half way out in Oct 2006 and instictively stopped to find a car silently skid right across my path. The guy driving had a bemused look, restarted his engine and carried on off down the road without even a "sorry". :?
