Building A Road Hybrid.
Righty ho then, thinking of building a hybrid for my missus, i have some road wheels, road mechs, and road bike forks, does anyone know if these items can be fitted to a hybrid frame, i've noticed that off the peg hybrids all have mountain bike mechs so this now has me wondering what will and wont fit, was thinking of getting this frame,

Only problem with fitting what you already have would seem to be the forks: you'd have to mix caliper and Vs (or cantis) front and rear respectively. Annoyance-factor of that will depend on whether flat or drop bars. The forks might also have significantly less clearance than the rear end - but as long as tyre size not a given (usage?) then that's essentially OK.
Mechs (dependent on number/size of rings/cassette) and wheels shouldn't be a problem.
Shifters etc again dependent on flat or drops.

If your wife requires mudguards then the Ribble training/winter frame may be a better choice, it comes with forks which should be a good match for the frame. Check that the frame geometry is what you expect because I found the top tube on my Ribble winter frame to be much longer than I expected given the the seat tube length.
