I think you'll find most retailers would have behaved in exactly the same way, it's probably human error after all and not a deliberate way of earning interest out of punters, and risk losing any future business as they have with yergoodself.

Normally I would say that if they advertise an incorrect price accidently they don't have to honour it as it's an invitation to sale and can correct the prior to a transaction taking place....but in your case it really sounds like they need to honour it as a transaction...has taken place...ie they've taken your money as opposed to just sent you a confirmation email of your order request.

    How much is it normally?

...I have always found service on Evans website to be excellent...exchanges etc. have been no problem and the staff I have spoken to on the phone very, very helpful.

...was this the first purchase you have made from Evans? I would put it down to human error and not push your blood pressure up over a £7.99 sale item. Blimey, you'll blow a gasket when something really important goes wrong! :o:wink:

I bought an MTB from them just over a year ago and had to take it to one of their shops to get repaired (the chain ring bent in transit) and living in Norwich it was a bit of a hike to Sussex.

I have bought clothing from them in the past though and their service has been mediocre.

To late - Gasket already blown. Lol

I'm now gonna jump off my soap box!! Just thought I'd try and stir this forum up a bit.

Calm down dear, it's only a cadance sensor.

I can tell you now that Evans have not committed a 'theft' and I sincerely doubt there was any dishonest motive behind the advert.

It sounds like there's been a bit of mistake somewhere along the line. They do happen from time to time and life goes on.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it....

7/10 for the disproportionate rant though.

    Only 7?!?!?

I put my heart and sole in that - as well as breaking a few keys on the keyboard.

You should get a Heart Rate sensor to go with that cadence sensor. Just make sure you get one with four digits though!

You got that angry because someone made a minor error? You should get out more.

You have just categorically stated on a public forum that a large company has committed theft, obtained money by deception, and contravened the Trades Description Act. I hope you have a decent lawyer.

It was a simple mistake and they don't have to honour the orders or pricing at all, and presumably they will refund you.

Thats like a £30 item isnt it ? So you must have realised they wouldnt be selling it for under £8 ?

Think soothing thoughts. Maybe put essential oils on your bike mitts too ?

And did anyone else read this and think that Cadel had let a break of 130 riders go away on the first mountains stage ?

Okay, okay, may be a slight exaggeration :P

However, depends on how you view it. 70% + discount on anything is good in my book.
Also, as I had ordered 2 of them, and with the difference in postage charges, the saving for me was actually nearer £50. So there :wink:
