No news really - stage has started but without Aurilien Passeron of Saunier Duval who collided with the spectator yesterday.

I have a feeling that we'll be treated to the sight of Voeckler on an Away-Day ticket to try to keep his jersey. Is it just my imagination or is he even more awkward looking on a bike than Virenque?

Virenque was one of my favorite riders. I loved his riding style. :(

Without Aurilien Passeron (who he ?), Saunier Duval are down to 7

I dunno, I just find SD one of the least appealing teams in the peloton.

Chavanel is off again today, with Freddy Bichot and Benoit Vaugrenard for company. Already got about five minutes on the peloton. Chavanel is the highest on GC at 2.10 down on Schumacher. How well can Gerolsteiner climb? Will they have many men to support Schumacher given their efforts yesterday even though the climbs today arent that bad? There dont have anyone high on GC who they could send out to act as policeman if M<illar, Van de Velde et al attack.

    Cadel is cranky today

Evans is back in, but has to stop again.

Now he is riding back again. Oh, Evans almost rides into a team car. Then he gets mad a gendarme on his moto, who is not riding as far to the left as the Aussie wants. He gives him a little push, then turns around and points to his glasses (making a gesture saying that the moto guy should look out where he is going.

Evans is probably a bit ticked off with his mechanical, too.

Does the crash in the last 3 kms rule only apply to flat finishes then?

No he didn't. He whacked into the outstretched arm of a spectator with a camera, causing him to lose control and unfortunately take out hincapie in the sprint.

    Anyway, Columbia woooo

Evans really is going to wheelsuck for the next two and a bit weeks and bore his way to a TDF win, isn't he? I know it's ungracious but I really do hope he explodes big time on one of the mountain stages.

The moderate gradient suited him, plus Piepoli was out front as a target from chasers with ambitions of winning.

Some outrageous cat & mouse going on up front in that last 1 km.

He looked pretty stuffed arriving at the line. I had been hoping he could have had a go like Moncoutie did, at around 5 km (or whenever it was that Piepoli and Vandevelde attacked).

Nice win for the "boiler men". Good to see Ricco's still kicking butt, not lying around on some beach.

I'm actually disappointed whenever I see him. I sooooooo don't want him to win the way he probably will.

It was brilliant, like a match-sprint on the track.

+1 on not wanting Evans to win.
