Or the District Judge was an ass, which has happened before.
In my opinion, cyclists should give way to pedestrians in the road but not if there's a real risk that it's an ambush. The only defence that I'd accept is if the cyclist had cause to believe that he'd have been attacked by a group of drunken teenagers if he'd stopped for them.This post contains traces of nuts.0 -

I read that he had been going much faster than this (as shown by CCTV footage), and slowed down to 17mph, which must seem very slow on a bike costing £4750.This post contains traces of nuts.0
