Which lube gives the quietest drive chain? I think that since I cleaned my chain and used Prolink Chain Lube things have got much louder. Or is it a characteristic of Campag Centaur 08. The indexing is fine but cogs 2 -7 make a a lot of noise.

If you want a quiet drivechain you can't beat oil such as 3in1 or engine oil. However it makes an awful black mess very quickly.
I am thinking of going back to Prolink Gold, slightly noisier but much cleaner than oil.
There is no perfect lube, you have to experiment and see what suits you.

I use a wax based lube and use it often(I think) say twice a week and I have no noise.

try finish line gold ceramic its the dogs bits £3.00rsp for a small bottle it lasts ages
make sure your chain is spotless try taking it off the bike I jet wash mine OFF the bike or use a good degreaser clean the cassette as well, again better if you can get it off the wheel and again degrease you can get a brush to clean between the teeth. When it is as clean as you can get it dry refit and only put as much oil as needed to much oil is a bad thing DONT rejoin Shimano chains if you dont have a new pin to replace the one you have pushed out or get a power link from sram or kmc .about £1.99 Most bike shops will remove your cassette and refit for about £2.00 if you ask nice or even FOC if you purchase something from them(just take the wheel in).
P.S. dont put new oil on top of old oil it makes a good grinding paste (bad thing)

    hope this helps
