Have a Giant Trance 3, and this comes with the above fork as standard. After completing the Builth Wells Merida event, i looked over the bike(after cleaning) to make sure all was well. It was then i noticed that the black rebound adjuster on the bottom of the fork was missing(along with the metal piece that fits up into the fork). Took the bike to the LBS the next day, and they showed me how easily it comes out, on a fork that they had on the shelves. They were kind enough to give me a new one to insert, but riding home on the road i heard it fall out. I can't see how this will stay in place, and it also loses fluid if there is nothing there - anyone else have this problem or know what i can do to fix it?

Thanks

it should be a firm click to fit.

if it is weeping oil then get the shop to sort it. when the adjust is not fitted it should not leak.

My bike is fitted standard with Rock Shox Tora 302. I can understand what you mean about the rebound adjuster, it can fall out anytime. I have been riding fast on black routes for 5 months and the adjuster is still on.

Your shock should not be leaking at all hence why the adjuster knob is falling out easily due to slippery oil. You should get it fixed ASAP. You don't need to leave the knob in unless you want to keep adjusting it. If you want to leave the knob at home, just cover the hole with a tape to keep out dust.
  • i have the same foaurk thingmy and the same problem... touch alloy it hasn't fallen out mid trail yet but I do leave in fear...
