i hoped you were joking for a moment, was hoping he would recover before the alps0
-
He should have stabilisers on his bike till he hits the mountains :shock:0
-
I think Geraint Thomas said in the Giro that they had to constantly surround Soler to protect him, as he is so bad riding in a group.0
-
-
My mind just goes back to a comment on him in a Tour preview magazine.
"...but can he "lose" enough time to go off in the mountains?"
Apparantly he can!0 -
Current race situation
Lilian Jegou (Francaise des Jeux), Nicolas Vogondy (Agritubel) and Florent Brard (Cofidis)
Peloton at 7.15
Sprinters teams starting to close it down with over 140km to go. They're not going to make the same mistake as Monday.'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0 -
Valverde crashed, rejoined after a wheel change and 'consulting with the doctor'.
I wonder if that means he's hurt properly, or it's just an excuse to hitch a ride holding onto a car for a km or so ?0 -
Valverde apparently has cuts on his arms and legs. There was a great shot of him just now holding on to the medical car with the entire CdE team sitting on his wheel.
His fourth tour and the third time he's hurt himself!0 -
-
Yes, they put Valverde in the middle because it's the only way to stop him crashing (again).0
-
most of the crashes happen at the back so everyone of the top riders would stay middle to top of the peleton
Im thinking McEwen will take it - on the third stage after the first four cross there was a bunch spring for 5th and McEwen got that0 -
This is like watching a Giro stage from 10 years ago. Any chance they're gonna start racing today?0
-
McEwan ? Maybe.
Looks like a sprinter's day though.
From www.letour.fr16:21 - Vaughters Pick For Today’s Stage
Jonathan Vaughters, the head honcho of the Garmin-Chipotle team is in the LeTour.fr headquarters at the finish right now. When asked for his pick for today he said, "I think the finish is perfectly suited to Cavendish. But look out for Chicchi of Liquigas. I’ve seen him race in a number of places and on a day like today when it’s not too hard and there’s no too much wind, he’s got a real kick for the last 150-200 meters.
"Julian is our best candidate but Maggie can roll pretty well in these kind of sprints. He’s good at positioning himself and can get some momentum coming.
"What I’d love to see is Mr Millar give it a go in the last two or three kilometers. It’s going to be hard for him to do that and he’s not quite as punchy as Cancellara, but it’d be cool to see him have a go."
Millar's legs will be shagged after yesterday, the gameplan is Super Besse, this is just mind-games ? Or is Super Besse mindgames ?0 -
Maybe Chinny can surprise them all with a flyer 8)
Go on Thor.
Or Robbie.
Or the other Robbie.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
No telly today.0
-
Crash. Aurélion Passeron (whoooo?) of Saunier Duval crashed into a spectator (to be fair, she looked pretty hard to miss).0
-
Another crash. Heinrich Haussler touches wheels and looks fairly injured. Wow, the stage has woken up.0
-
Well done Cav!0
-
lol at all those who slagged the lad (Cav) off the last few days are gonna be eating their words0
-
Booooooo!Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0
-
Absolutely fantastic, went for it from a long way out and held off Zabel, Freire and Hushovd0
-
I still dont like him tho haha0
-
-
Vogondy was sooo close.. gutted for him really0
-
Give him a flat finish these days and no one can beat him - he was well over a length clear of Freire and Zabel.
My first points on the board for the PTP, woot!0
