I'm in the market for a new hydration pack and would like something that will hold all the necessaries for long days in the saddle i.e. food, water, tools, tubes, spare clothes.

Anybody got experience of the 2 packs I've mentioned?

I've just upgraded from a Mule to a Hawg.
The Mule was ok. It was just about perfect for a 2hr trail ride. But, it was v.crammed full.
The Hawg is spot on. Can get twice as much kit in it, and without causing the back to bow out, and become uncomfortable on the back. Plus, the water reservoir is just that bit easier to work with than the Mule.

The only downside with the Hawg, is that it doesn't have clippable buckles (on the straps that compress the panel/etc), like the Mule does. So, it's not so easy to tack pads/lid on the outside.

Despite that, I'd still give it 2 thumbs up.
Stumpy, Rockhopper (stolen!) & custom SX Trail II - that should do it!
