Dear all
am looking at cyclocross for my 18 miles round trip commute through central London.
Think cyclocross a good option for me as I want something light and quick, but that will take a rack and bags.
And not need tuning and maintenance every 10 minutes!
I have a budget of £700-ish
So, am looking at the Bianchi D2 Axis 2008
http://www.evanscycles.com/product.jsp?style=87045
Be really grateful if any rider has comments on how it feels, and how good the components stand up to the daily bump and grind [didn't mean that ...]
Or, even better, suggestions for a good cyclo-coss purchase in my price bracket.
Many thanks

I am looking for a CX bike too and in a similar price range. I have spoken to a fair few people about them and the Kona Jake and Spesh Tricross Comp seem to be well thought of; although there are loads of forum threads complaining about the Tricross having judder and squeal (mostly in the larger sizes). I am not aware of how the Bianchi rides but would be interested to find out. I guess the best way is to organise to test ride a bunch of bikes back to back and if a particular shop isn't up for it then go elsewhere..
Beep Beep Richie.

I have a Felt F1x, used for everything from commuting to singletrack MTB trails, sadly there are no lugs for rack or mudguards.0
