I have now decided to replace my old mountain bike for a real bike..... but I need the best of both worlds.....
* On roads...to go from A - B
* Off road.... hardcore terrain
* Not too sure about the suspension bikes though!!!
I am going through the Halfords Cycle to work scheme so I need to buy a bike from there.
If any of you experienced guys out there have the time could you look at the Halfords website and recommend a bike that will suit my needs.....cost is not an issue... I would rather pay more if I need to.
Anyone please help!!!
By the way the Cycle to work scheme is great... you can get around 50% of the bike and any accessories. So if anyone wants to join get your company HR to sort it>>

You don't need to stick to Halfords stock, they can order in from other suppliers. Any idea (ballpark figure) of a budget?
Have a look at the Boardman bikes on Halfrauds website, in premium bikes section. Can't be beaten for the money.Boardman Road Comp '08

Bear in mind at Halfords you may be restricted to £1000 max. My scheme excludes the payment of extra cash for a bike over and above the voucher value.
AndyEvidently i mostly have a FCN of 1. I'm now a lady!0 -
The D-Jab looks a terrific bike for the cash.
You'll struggle to find an owner to tell you about theirs, but WMB ran a positive review of it.
Will be better over "hardcore terrain" than the Boardman bikes too, as it has a longer travel fork.
If you are restricted to £1k - there are a few long-forked hardtail options in that price bracket too.0
