Gomez = ouch *spoiler* if you haven't seen stage 3
First of all I hope his injuries aren't serious (I know he's had to withdraw, but worse than beyond that).
I noticed that the road sign he was lying near had a big dent in it, did he hit it? I only ask because he seems to have a problem with road furniture if any of you remember this....... http://www.brightcove.tv/title.jsp?title=1504447570&channel=1351810759

I saw that bent sign and that was the first thing I thought, that he'd hit it. Didn't realise it was him that had gone a**e over t*t in Flanders too.0

he's either unlucky or suffers serious lapses in concentration!0

I didn't realise it was the same person as Flander either at first. I was just concerned as to the seriousness of his injuries as he didn't seem to be moving when he was on the ground. I did a search for Angel Gomez crash and it threw up the crash in Flanders0

He really hasn't had much luck this year, AND commentators mistake him for his team captain, who's not even riding this race!!! Both ITV and Eurosport (if only for a while) called him Gomez Marchante. Liggett even bemoaned the loss of a good GC hope!
It seems as though he hit the hay bail first as that was somewhere across the other side of the road, and his bike finished on the left, while he was on the right. Something simlar to Flanders really.0 -

Angel Gomez Gomez came into the team as a late replacement when Angel Gomez Marchante dropped out. He's nicknamed 'Litu' to distinguish him from the 'real Gomez'.
I heard he had a crushed pelvis, although I don't know whether that meant the pelvis bones or the softer body parts in the pelvis area (abdomen, genitals, etc) - the term can mean either or both.
As the island was just round a 90-degree corner and he was in a grouped peloton, I wonder if he just never had a chance to see the traffic sign/hay bundle until too late.0
