Fun day out for all the family, bike demos (Yeti,Giant, Commencal etc)
NPS mtb trials to watch
Age related XC racing on the new RED route (EOL available) prizes and trophies from Hope (easy targets for people on here)
MTB skills workshops
trade stands etc
info on the pennine events website
(its NOT my event but I'm helping on the day)
this is nearly the route (all the fun bits)
From Lee Mill car park (Kingfisher Centre) head up the track (sign saying stone deliveries this way), through the gate and up the hill into the quarry.
Follow the white arrows (for a waymarked foot route) which switches you back on yourself and then into the quarry. Keep following the white arrows through the eastern part of the quarry until you cross a double slab bridge and on to a track turn left (south) and follow track round the highest part of the quarry (this is the part with the most exposure should you stray from the path)
you then bear right on a obviously manmade trail trail that routes around the perimeter of the site (this is fast but with obstacles that you won't see to you are on them so caution on the first lap)
you then enter the "pump track" and the sweeping desent through the "woods" (there is one low hanging branch)and end up next to the entrance gate
lift bike over the fence and start again
laps are 15-20mins, you can short cut the first part but its worth the tour to see what else is there
the black route looks cut in you will see it when riding round and will probably make a good second lap
remember that its a "pocket" trail centre and there plenty of scope for the future
also remember that is a former quarry there are a lot of big drops without any fencing and it very rocky next to the trails
