Hi, to all.
i know youve all probably been asked this a dozen times and i have read other posts, but any help will be greatly appreciated.
I am buying my first road bike, and with a budget of £500, i thought that maybe a decent second hand bike would be better than a budget range new one.
I have seen a LEMOND Alp D'HUEZ2006 [/b] in good condition using shimano 105 and ultegra......
the price is £450
The big question is, Is this worth the money. or i am making a huge mistake.
THANKS in advance..

sounds a lot to me - its not like it is got dura-ace or a carbon frame (i't alloy isnt it )
at that price i'd rather have something like a new Giant SCR 2.0 and live with tiagra.0 -
Yea its alu frame with carbon forks and seat post.
thanks0 -

Luke - don't worry about asking questions here...it is YOUR money, so spend it wisely.
The main consideration is that your first road bike must 'fit' - i.e you feel comfortable on it.
There are a huge number of good entry level road bikes available to you - take your time.
If there is a local cycling club near to you then get in touch with them - take some soundings.
If there is a local bike shop near to you then go and visit them - most good LBS will be happy to let you 'test ride' what they have in stock.
Info on the Lemond bike you have in mind can be found here:

I am sure that others have some helpful advice to offer before you part with your hard earned cash!Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom0 -

I don't think it's a bad deal PROVIDING it's in excellent condition, lightly used and all the components are in good order. I think it looks quite nice, too.0
