This had a siezed seatpost when I bought it 2years ago, so I striooed the Campy derailleurs and shifters, plus the Cinelli bars and stem, and sold them for a tidy profit over what I paid for the bike. One of the pedals won't come out of the crank (yes, I know about left hand threads), so those are in my parts box. Rebuilt it with Shimano Golden Arrow derailleurs, Simplex Retrofriction shifters, more recent 105 dual pivot brakes an cranks, MKS pedals, Wrights leather saddle and moustache bars with leather wraps. Whaddya think?

I didn't - the rear hub was already swapped out for a 7 speed, the front is still there. I moved the brakes and levers (never the greatest), derailleurs and shifters. It was Nuovo Gran Sport, so a level below Record at the time - something akin to where Chorus is now. No big loss, since in effect, I got a free bike. The saddle came in a box of stuff I bought for a tenner, which also contained 2 Coloral aluminium water bottles - sold those for over £50. The brakes and derailleurs (I love Golden Arrow) I had around anyway, waiting for the right bike. The bars, cranks and bar covers I had to buy, but I probably broke even anyway.

Sam.What make of bars are they on your Raleigh G/S?bagpuss0 -
They're Nashbar own brand - very cheap in the States, but they won't ship to the UK unless you pay gigantic quantities of money. I have a number of classic bike fan friends from Bikeforums, to whom I've sold many wondrous UK sourced things that are hard to find in the States, and I had one of them order these for me, and then ship them over. Still much cheaper than any I could find in the UK.

Paul, yes. It rides really nicely. I couldn't help fitting a front brake and using on the road........On the rollers it will happily spin out a 93" gear and 77" on the road. A really well designed frame.0
