i wondering if anyone knows were i can get a campagnolo shifter hood clamp bolt
(it clamps the shifter to the handlebars) as mine has cross threaded.
i took it to lbs and he said he cant remember ever seeing a broken one and suggested maybe buying a new set of shifters.

the shifters are not that old and im really struggling to try and justify buying a new set, in the meantime no2 bike is out of action.

B&Q. It's a standard bolt from what I remember. Go in, ask for the size, and they'll get some for you. You'll probably have to buy a pack of 10 or something, but it will be really cheap anyway.

This ebay seller might be cheaper and be of better quality than B & Q

I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

A brake mounting nut (for road caliper brakes) will work just the same.

If you want the part with the external thread then you need a M6 x 12 bolt.
You will need to file the bolt head down so it's the same shape as the Campag bolt i.e. thin and rectangular so it fits in the clip recess.
If you need the part with the internal thread and Allen key head you're f***ed.

give Mercian a call. They are Campag importers and fixed the Ergo shifter I broke a bolt on.

I don't think he meant to send you on a bum steer - it's just a bolt - i'd have thought you might get one at B&Q or wickes or something too.

glad you got sorted though - i'd have been worried if a cross threaded bolt means new shifters!!
