    You handled that very well! Did you report the driver to the police? That was dangerous driving and leaving the scene of an accident. It's probably possible to get the reg out of your cam footage - just needs a tool to split it into frames, then play with the contrast and gamma correction. It's not exactly CSI - someone in a graphics/digital movie forum should be able to do it for you if you ask nicely, assuming the police are too lazy/inept.
