The sun's shining. I haven't been out on my bike for over a week :( I just want to get out of this office and enjoy the sunshine :cry::cry::cry:

I'd love to but the journey would be too hazardous. I'd have to come into London via the A40 and then cut across the city :?

You are not the only one, I have the same. I can't really cycle to work, as I live closer to work then the closest bus stop is to the office. Less then 7 minutes walking slowly, and I am slack and stay in bed late.
But can't wait, wheel is fixed and then will be going for a big ride after work. YAY.
Just find space and time I say.

Find a new route and cycle on pavements. Seriously, I do and it's a blast. Riding to work is a big adjustment but I'd try it.

    Nothing wrong with the A40

I've found i feel safer riding in the rush hour traffic than the Saturday morning traffic.

Rush hour is more predictable and slower moving so it is easier the swerve in and out.

I dare not try some of my manoeuvres on Saturdays as the traffic is more free/fast flowing.

Right! A bit of tough love called for I think. Don't ride your bike and you'll end up looking like this unappealling pile o'blubber:

Gavin, how did you find that picture of me, and more to the point I'm NOT a "unappealing pile o'blubber"

Ok no thats not really me, I would never let that happen to my precious body :lol::lol:

If you are losing motivation, then you need to find more people to ride with that will give you a bit of a challenge I say

It can sometimes be beneficial to take a bit of a break. Don't shoot me yet, hear me out...

One day, a couple of weeks later, you'll be on the bus/train/car. You'll be going along, looking out the window, and see a road. You'll suddenly have an incredible urge to get on your bike and ride that road, straight away. When you get home, you'll grab your bike and the relationship will be restored, like meeting an old friend again.

Of course, if that doesn't happen, you can always take up tiddlywinks.
