Evening all,
On Thursday 18th September 2008 officers from Hackney Borough Police, together with staff from Hackney Council and the Crown Prosecution Service will undertake a huge challenge to raise at least £30,000 for Sky Way and Chance UK, both local charities supporting young people in Hackney, as well as for Macmillan Nurses Cancer Support.
We will run a non-stop relay from Hackney, via Marble Arch to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, where we will get on our bicycles and again, in non-stop relay, ride all the way to the Mediterranean. A total of 1,266 kilometres will be covered and the goal is to achieve this in just four days.
This is an exciting opportunity for Hackney Borough Police, London Borough Of Hackney Council and the Crown Prosecution Service to work with Sky Way and Chance UK, supporting diversionary and educational activities for young people. Also supporting the invaluable work done by Macmillan Nurses.
For more details go to www.hackneyalamed.com (website in inital stages but keep coming back for updates)
This is a massive undertaking and we're still on the lookout for sponsorship and support. I'm sure you'll agree that these are fantastic causes and a fantastic challenge.
