Hello cycle commuters.
I've had an idea to promote cycling to motorists.
Works like this: Wear "quickerbybike.com" on your shorts for your commute. Queueing motorists see the logo pass them and ponder it while they sit there. They visit the site and are re-born as cheerful cycle commuters. They wear the logo on their shorts......
There's a flip side. Wearing the logo, you must ride DECENTLY. No running red lights, riding on the pavement, crowding motorists, being superior or aggressive. You must make yourself appealing, not hateful, to motorists.
I'm rather hoping you lot will want to be part of this.
www.quickerbybike.com
The site is brand new and not perfect. The blog perhaps more accurately conveys the message.
It's here: http://www.quickerbybike.blogspot.com
There are lots of shorts out there already. The site had just under 200 hits yesterday.
The venture is pretty young and small, so if you think you might fancy being part of it / buying kit, just email me.
Feedback on the site / blog / idea very welcome.

Actually the only words I've considered putting across clothing for motorsts are "slow" and "down" I think anything else would aggrevate them.0

It is a two-edged sword but it shouldn't be a problem if you ride well. Unlike the guy I saw the other week with a "pass slow and wide" hi viz tabard who was weaving in and out of queues and jumped 2 red lights*. It aggravated me, so I'm sure it riled the motorists.
* that I saw, the actual number was probably much higher. This was on victoria embankment so no risk of left-hooks that some RLJers use as an excuse0 -
Just a URL? I could get a whole essay on the back of my shorts0

I had worried about it aggravating motorists but it doesn't seem to.
You gotta behave yourself of course and, I guess, not be tempted to race to prove it's quickerbybike.

Not offensive enough really :!:
How about "Kiss my" across the top of the shorts?
I won't be buying any as i occasionally get a bit of 'red mist' and can't promise not to tarnish your good name.0
