Mavic Crossride freewheel problems

I bought a shiny new pair of Mavic Crossride Disc wheels back at the end of April.
Over the last month or so I've been getting issues with the freewheel. It appears to keep slipping. Not good when you're standing up giving it some welly. It happens intermitantly, even when bibbling along.
I've not even taken them offroad properly yet so I was wondering if anyone has had similar issues or if this is a known fault or what I can do do fix the problem. The rear wheel seems to also have a lot of flex when pedalling hard uphill.
I bought them from Wiggle and am waiting to hear back from them (via email refund section of their website - they don't give out phone numbers.... )
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

are you sure it is the freebody and not the chain jumping?
if the body them not much you can do till you hear from Wiggle.
some wheels flex more that others."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I have a set of crossrides on my hard tail, the free hub mechanism only has 2 poles but mine have never let me down. They do flex a bit but I can't say it's excessive. Mine have taken some beatings in their time and although I have straightened them a few times, the bearings and freewheel are still silky smooth! I think they were a bargain at just over £100!0

Not sure if there's a smiley face to indicate "trying to be helpful and not a smart-@arse" but for future ref, they are called pawls, not poles."Internet Forums - an amazing world where outright falsehoods become cyber-facts with a few witty key taps and a carefully placed emoticon."0 -

ah we are looking at a set of these wheels - are they any good? I have read reviews where some people have said these pawls are plastic, but others say they are steel. If they are plastic they could have broken and this could be your problem?
Worrying really if you have used them as little as you said. We are currently thinking about getting a set.
Would anyone that has actually used the crossrides recommend them?http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7231/6933696372_603c9ce220_b.jpg

Yes,I would, if you're bothered about weight saving, the quick releases are quite heavy, but other than that I'd recomend them0 -

This should answer your questions - the pawls are steel, the springs that engage the pawls are plastic.

Sorry to jump on the end of this thread, but I have been using a set of crossrides on my daily commuter for about 6 months, and have been pleased with them......
However, and this might be worth bearing in mind, I snapped a spoke a few days ago on the rear wheel and can't seem to find spares anywhere in the UK.
Anyone know of a source of the straight pull bladed spokes and nipples used on these wheels?
If I can't get any spare spokes the wheel will effectively be useless, so although a cheap initial purchase, I'n not sure I would recommend them purely because of the difficulty getting spares.
Mavic support in the UK seems virtually non existent compared to other countries - anyone managed to get any useful contact details or info on how to contact them?
Thanks,

This exact problem happened to my crossrides !
Ended up needing a new freehub, but priced one up at its about £45.00
The lack of grease which comes in the wheels probably doesnt help !0
