i have the stink.
My gloves are getting on to 4 months of good hard use and they smell.
thats not to bad but its transfering over to my hands now. Any one have a shure fire way to remove the stink with out damageing the materials in the gloves. I have read about people soaking the gloves then micro waveing to remove the bacteria. and other less radical solutions ?

You know how when you've been out for a ride, and you're all sweaty and stinky, do you have a shower or do you sit there for four months wondering how to get rid of the smell???

    Thought not...

Im not the same as a pair of gloves.

When people post honest questions about how best to look after expencive equipment why post unhelpful and smug posts?

I've sometimes washed them by putting them on and then washing my hands with normal soap and water, they should at least be able to cope with getting wet (not much use as MTB gloves if they're not).

mine have been through the wash about 40 times and are in top shape.

I have 2 pairs (one fingerless, and 1 full finger), I wash them both after probably every other ride.

Never had any bother with any of mine in the wash either - after a muddy/sweaty ride everything goes straight in.

Just spray them with deodorant. When too stiff to wear, replace.

Your gloves should be fine in the wash, lets face it they cope with being battered on the trail.

If you are really worried about them getting damaged in the wash, stick them inside a pair of socks when you wash them

My 661 Descent gloves have been washed twice. It's made them pretty baggy and it's causing nightmare calouses (sp?) as they shift around. Need a new pair before I hit the Alps next week.

Why not just hand wash them, won't be as harsh as a machine wash, & you can see if you are causing any damage

I find that after a few wet rides, my fox gloves get baggy on my hands.
So, I chuck them in the wash, then tumble-dry them, which shrinks them ever so slightly, giving a perfect fit! :D

I've been doing this to a pair of fox Sidewinders for years and years with no ill effects.
