Hello,
My front juicy 3s (on my new(ish) Orange P7) make a strange clicking noise (like a cricket) when braking. Incedentally my motorbike has started doing the same. Anyone know what this is, and how I can fix it ?

Many thanks

is it just the noise that the rotor makes as it goes through the pads?

    better info required.

Dont think so although I am not sure. It really sounds like a cricket; a rapid clicking sound, but slightly muffled. The braking power does not seem to be comprimised however. It is a new sound that started on Saturday midway through a 65 mile hilly cycle

so is this sound happening only when you brake? no other time. and it is speed relative? and pressure relative?

nowarps and pads not worn out?

I've had that happen recently on my Juicy 7s and my XT brakes, both on the front. Put it down to the pads / rotor interface (new pads on the 7s). Only happens on medium to hard braking, no effect on performance.
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result

Sounds about right. Just when braking and just on the front. Pads are quite new. Noise seems to be the same however hard I brake, maybe ever so slightly louder when braking hard. No warps as far as I can see. Performance seems fine - it is just a bit annoying and I want to make sure it is nothing major - i.e. want to avoid brake failure on a steep incline ! ! !

    Hi

I have grooved front discs on my car and my juicy three's make the same 'propellering' sound under heavy braking - it's just the acoustic effect of the gaps in braking surface on the rotors... Nothing to worry about :)
