Rear Shock upgrade

Hi i was wondering if anyone can give me advice.....im looking to upgrade my rear shock on my trek remedy from a manitou swinger 3 way to a fox float rp23.... is this a good move as i would like a shock that locks out... i know the fox shocks are supposed to be the dogs but will it be worth the money in the long run ... i mainly do singletrack and some freeriding can anybody help

The RP23 is a great shock with all sorts of rebound and propedal options to play with . Would look great on a remedy especially when the 08/09 model is sporting it right now

I didn't think the rp23 had a lockout. Just an adjustment to firm up the pro-pedal.
